Deer grazing in Richmond Park
About The Park

2,500 acres of royal parkland, right on our doorstep.

Enclosed by Charles I in 1637 as a royal hunting ground, Richmond Park is the largest of London's Royal Parks: 2,500 acres of ancient oaks, open heath and free-roaming red and fallow deer. It's the kind of place that rewards slow exploration, and a bike is the best way to do it, cover the full loop, find a quiet spot by the ponds, and still make it back to the station in time for a pint.

We hire two bikes built for exactly this kind of ride: the comfortable, upright Cruiser / Hybrid, and the faster, lighter Gravel for covering more ground. Every booking includes a stop-by-stop itinerary with Google Maps links to our favourite corners of the park.

Cruiser / Hybrid bike
Cruiser / Hybrid style bikes by the river
Cruiser / Hybrid

Perfect for gravel, tarmac and road. Sit upright, take it all in. Wide tyres and a relaxed riding position handle Richmond's gravel paths and riverside trails without asking anything of you: just pedal, look around, and stop whenever something catches your eye.

Gravel

For the more serious rider. Faster, lighter and built for distance, with drop bars and a geometry that eats up the Tamsin Trail and the Thames Path without complaint. Pick this one if you want to cover ground, ride the full 12km loop, or simply prefer a bike that moves when you do.

Richmond Park FAQs

Is cycling allowed in Richmond Park?

Yes, Richmond Park is one of London's best-loved places to cycle, with dedicated cycling routes including the full Tamsin Trail loop and the park's public roads. Just look out for the deer, they always have right of way.

Is Richmond Park hilly?

There are a few gentle rises, particularly near Richmond Gate, but nothing technical. Both our bikes are built for comfort over that kind of ground, so most riders find the whole loop an easy, relaxed ride.

Is Richmond Park suitable for kids?

Very much so. Our Gravel bike is comfortable and easy to ride, and much of the park's cycling network is flat, wide and away from traffic, perfect for a family afternoon among the deer. Child seats and helmets for little ones are available on request on the Gravel, just let us know when you book.

How long do you need for Richmond Park?

We'd recommend at least two hours to ride the full loop at an easy pace with stops for photos and a picnic. Take the full day option if you'd rather not watch the clock.
